Dear reading, my name is Mariana Vasconcelos, I am seventeen years old, I am single, my favorit knowloge on school is biology. The educational institution that I study is Marista Champagnat. I am from Brasilia, Brazil and my date of birth is  October twenty fourth. I can't live without this, dancing  is everything for me, it's all that  I love and all I that I need!Smile

At Marista, I made many friends, I learned most of the things that I know nowadays, I discovered  what life is and was there that I had my best moments. My favorit  knowloge there was biology, because we can know more about life, animals, plants, about the world, and it is very exciting.

When I was a child I started to take ballet classes and I still do it. I love dancing, any kind of dance, makes me fell better and relax. I  will never stop to dancing. During my life,I usually travel for competition, I usualy had  many great experiences and I always have been involved  with it.

Well, "it's me!", of course sometimes I get nervous, stressed out, but in general I am laid back. I just can't live without my family, friends and dance!Laughing

The other side of the story...

Dear Peter Menzel, after I read your article about "Life in the Material World", I decided to write somethings about social injustice that  really made me feel  uncomfortable. We have to open people eyes for this reality before it is too late.

How we can live in this world that just few people have money, opportunities, possessions, job, family, home, food and at the same time, most of the world doesn't have anything. It's strange, isn't it? But this is true.

Social inequality occurs when the distribution of income is made differently and  the majority is in the hands of a few people. Social inequality has caused the growth of children and young people unprepared for life and many of  opportunities and can not end up becoming marginal. Sometimes not because they want to, but they have no alternatives. Another factor that aggravates this situation is the violence that grows every day. We can see this inequality in some movies like "Hotel Ruanda", "Blood Diamant", etc, that show people in deplorable conditions, and I really don't understand how they can still live.

Unfortunately people need money to survive and improve their happy, so the  warning has to be given and everyone should move and act in support of this problem, for finally stop with the  poverty, hunger,  and even the lack of affection. We have to see the other side of the story right now people!

trendy: comes and goes

Here in Brazil, since the emerging of the "world fashion", people always judged the clothes in this way, if it's brand-name it worths, or if it isn't the clothe can't be great. Usually they think that only brand-name clothes can supply their necessity. On the other hand, some people start to see that we have many opitions about places to buy new clothes, where aren't brand-name, but can be confortable, inexpensive and beautiful like brand-name clothes.

People generally buy brand-name clothes because those clothes are more confortable, during more time, make people look weel groomed, are sophisticated.Even so, they spent a lot of money, normally they are selfish, esnobish and consumirism. They act like this, because they can show for everybody how much money they have, with their excessively high prices.

The population who buy brand-name clothes, are helping to make more money for the economy, more jobs, project the name of the country, but the small industry can get bank rupt.

Brand-name clothes are positive when you know how to use, and when you are conscious about all the things that are envolved on it. And can be negative if you use just for think that you are better than everybody. We have just to feel confortable and beautiful, this is important!Laughing

Friends: the family that we can choose!

Seven years ago at Marista, I met Jéssica and Bárbara who are my friends until today. Those two girls are older than me, but we are at the same grade. During our life we traveled together, went out at nigth, we had a great time, we solved problems and cried together, sometimes we had an argument , we made many thing that I can't believe until nowadays and we still doing those things. Now I know that we are a family and I am sure that nothing and nobody can destroy this friendship.

Jéssica and Bárbara are very outgoing, funny, dependable and intelligent. They know how to cheer me up and  they are always there to talk with me and help me when I need in all situations.

Bárbara is more serious than Jéssica, she is the middle children, so she is diplomatic, social and a peacekeeper. On the other hand, Jéssica is the youngest child, she is fun-loving, amusing, creative and very agreeable. Sometimes Bárbara is simillar to my mom, but I like this because she takes care on me, and Jéssica always showes me how good things can be and how we can enhance our personality.

In my life have many things that I really don't know, but one thing that will never change is our friendship. I can't live without those girls, they make me fell better and complete and I hope to saty with them for the rest of my life.Wink

tracking

Tracking, sometimes, can help teachers in their job, for example the explanation become easier when all the students are in the same level of intelligent. But it doesn't help the students, because they would feel discriminated, or better than another person and it is too bad. One thing that is very important is that all the people need to help each other and it  will never change. For me, the best way to solve this problem is with the cooperative learning, when everybody help each other,  learn together, they can learn more when they teach someone some subject that they are good.
